As I was watching it, I was thinking..I understand the need to want to get the shot, but why stay there. I mean the camera is on a tripod, not moving. No one even pan the camera to the left to view more of the wave coming in. So, I think it was stage and IMO stage shots are not all that exciting.

Meh it was probably one of those tough cameras. They just edited it to make it seem like it was destroyed.
