Oh man, I'm guessing that was a lost insurance claim! How do you explain that one?
While on topic, why was the camera there to begin with? Was this a intentional camera suicide mission?

Wasn't me :)

I'm saying this had to been staged. Camera's will record what 5 to 10 minutes of video? So they would had to of known what was on it's way.

Cool video

This could be a Go Pro camera which are water proof. They set this video up with the intent to go viral. That's my take on this. Other wise this doesn't make sense

I was thinking the same thing. It was definitely planed.

:agree: After watching, click on the video link and read the comments.
The video went viral, B&H replaced the equipment and there are some good discussions about that particular camera saving the file when it shuts off suddenly. Sure sounds like a planned event to get "hits".
Call me suspicious but people do a lot of stupid things to get attention. Famous last words: "Hey y'all, watch this".

With lots of experience with massive tide changes on the Bay of Fundy (up to 50+ feet) and rough waves along the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia sweeping people away, these guys knew what was coming out there and with the limited scene in the shot, it was planned. Not sorry for them. They got exposure, new equipment and undue sympathy.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
