Are you a master of your camera equipment?

So I've had this D700 for about a month now and I'm still no where near close to reading this manual. Every time I open this manual I find something new to about this camera. Oddly enough I've had my D80 and D300 for some time and never would have guessed I would have this much of a learning curve for any Nikon camera. No granted this is a full frame camera vs the crop sensor in the other 2 I have.

BTW, how many of you actually read your manual from cover to cover?

I don't need no stink'in Signature! ha ha ha

Certainly no master, but I would like to think I know the camera pretty good. Have I read my manual or any of the manuals from cover to cover? LOL are you kidding me? I read 2 pages of any manual and I'm ready for a nap!

I usually open up the manual just as a reference only. No master here, still very much learning about this camera!

Manuals suck. If you have been using the D300, you should be almost there. David Busch has a book on the D700, I found it very helpful. However, forums like this are great and don't cost a lot of money.
Google your question and read away........:)

Why so serious?

Google pretty much solves everything. I bought a more in depth manual for my nikon, and finished it in a few hours.

I am a manual reader ...cover to cover. BUT, I also have to admit that just because I've read my manual a couple of times doesn't mean that I understand the camera completely. Its one thing to read and another to experience.

It is what it is.

I would rather learn the camera by studying it and referring to the manual as I work with the camera but I have Magic Lantern books for my equipment which seem to be easier to read than the Nikon publications.
