What old cameras are worth collecting?

13 years 3 months ago #19871 by Lucky One
I'm surfing around on ebay looking at all these old camera's for sale. Some aren't to bad on price. I was curious to get some input as to what antique camera's are worth to collect?

I just put a new shelf up in my man cave and was thinking what to put on it, now I think I want to put some old cameras on it. But would rather try finding camera's that might be worth some $$ some day.

Any thoughts?

I've got quite a number of older film cameras including TLR's & folding cameras...The ones worth collecting are still commanding higher prices than the run of the mill ones. Do a Google search on the models you are looking at as that might help you decide...They do look cool when displayed...

That's the thing, I don't know much about older camera's. I don't know which is considered good from nothing special. So before I go spending hard earned cash on old camera's, i was just hoping to get some help from others who have collected them or know a thing or two about old camera's and which are keepers from the ones you toss back. Because I sure don't!

Thanks again!

What format cameras are you looking at? 35mm, medium format?....Any Leica's are very collectible (and expensive still)...Also any Nikon or Canon interchangeable lens rangefinder cameras are hot as well.....There are many others, but some depend on wether or not you plan to use them or just display them. In TLR's, the Rollie's, Mamiya's (C220 & 330)& Minoltas 's (Autocord) are hot commodities...Hasselblad's are still commanding top dollar in medium format as well.
