It's their way of integrating the servers slowly, google did this with G+ as well as other web based stuff. No interest in pinterest at least with my own photos but maybe funny pics with no value...

I'm on pinterest. I don't use it to promote work. I use it more as an idea board.

I use Pinterest, but mostly for when I see pictures I like, which I'd like to try out myself. To me, it's really more of an educational tool for myself. I don't really like the idea of putting my own pictures up there to try to use it as a marketing tool. If someone wants to pin one of my photos, they can pin it directly from my site, since that can't really be controlled with Pinterest anyway, but I won't be pinning my own pictures.

I'm on pinterest. Dunno if its bringing in more viewers, but If my name is plastered under the image, hopefully it wont be removed and I will get some more followers.

So far on Pinterest I don't see photographers' names on the images much, and the website that's pinned with it doesn't necessarily seem like it's selling the photos and benefitting the photographer (more like they got them who knows how/where and might just be making money themselves without the photographer receiving any compensation). While a certain amount of networking might pay off you could just be throwing away your work on sites where people can help themselves and you don't end up with a photo credit much less payment.

Saw this on Sportsshooter, but if you search Pinterest and copyright you'll find similar articles - technorati.com/social-media/article/pint...rs-need-to-read-the/ .

While Facebook I think allows you to maintain your copyright, yet anything you post on there can be used by FB, on Pinterest if you post something that belongs to someone else, you'd apparently be held responsible for any copyright violations.

The Pinterest Terms of Service linked in the article are lengthy and I can't find them on the Pinterest website so I'm wondering if they took them down already. But in what I read that was linked, it sounds like users grant them perpetual, transferable, etc. license to use, copy, sell, transfer, and otherwise 'exploit' member content.

I've been on Pinterest for a while now. I pin my own photos and watermark the crap out of them. That way even if the link gets changed, my copyright will still be on them.

I've had several of my photos pinned over and over. The good thing is, you get a notification every time it's repinned by someone else (think 'shared'). That way, if you want, you can click on the new person's pin and leave a comment with your info on it.
