Does anyone know the rules on parks?

Is there a law in taking pictures of a state park, national park or zoos that I would need written permission to sell the photos?

This is what I found, I hope it helps.

home.nps.gov/applications/digest/permits.cfm?urlarea=permits

Still photographers require a permit when

1. the activity takes place at location(s) where or when members of the public are generally not allowed; or

2. the activity uses model(s), sets(s), or prop(s) that are not a part of the location’s natural or cultural resources or administrative facilities; or

3. Park would incur additional administrative costs to monitor the activity

Thanks. What about zoos?

I think every zoo is different. I think for the most part you don't need permission to sell the photos you take. I mean, in reality alot of photographers take pictures in zoos, so does every single one signs a permission form every time they go to a zoo? It's possible, but that's alot of paperwork for the zoo to keep on file.

I do know of a garden that if you are a professional photographer (they see this, if you were to walk into the garden with a tripod) you have to sign a permission form.

Thanks. I guess I could always ask each zoo I plan to take pictures at.

Really? A person with a tripod is a professional? WOW. I guess I should give my 5yr old a tripod for his playschool camera.

Yes, you could, but that could also stir up some trouble. Personally I don't ask any zoo if I need to sign a permission form. Maybe someone else on this forum can help you about zoos.
