Setting your white balance - ExpoDisk vs Gray Card

I'm thinking about ordering one of these ExpoDisk Professional Digital White Balance Filter's and was wondering how this works. Does this eliminate the need for gray cards?

I've seen the ads for that Expodisk filter but have no other knowledge of it?

Aren't those meant for entry level camera's?

Those ExpoDisk's are suppose to give you a better white balance reading.

Not at all, I've been on the fence about one of their neutral ones for a little while. I spoke to rep at B&H who showed me a number of very positive reviews on these. I think I'll be getting one soon enough.

I've got one & it's worth the money...I only really use it in mixed lighting situation though as I have found that Nikon's WB pre sets are pretty accurate...& yes you wouldn't need a gray/grey card if you use an Expodisc

So how much difference does it make in the photo?

Truer colors in the image, to match what you saw in the original scene..Just like what it's supposed to do...

I've never heard of a expodisk or gray card. Are these needed to take a picture? I mean I've been taking pictures all these time, but do they help?

No, that would be a color space problem...
