How large can you print a 36MP photo before it looks off?

I'm thinking about the day that I finally get my new D800 (I'm on the back order list :( ) I was just thinking about how larger this image might be. Anyone have the print specs before it starts looking fuzzy from stretching it?

Depends on how close you'll be to the print.

As said above, if you are going to look mostly at the whole print then it's probably unlimited. If you are going to press your nose against it or use a loupe then you will start to see more and more "fuzz" the farther you go below 250ppi (pixel dimensions / ppi = print dimensions). My eyes have been amazed at how good 180ppi can look.

The print would have to be incredibly large. You probably wouldn't be able to print a photo that large.

:agree: At full size you would need a pro size printer

When did you get on the list?
