Calendars, post cards

Has anyone had calendars or even post cards printed up and sold them in stores? If you have, did you have any luck selling them?

I have never printed calendars or post cards, but I have sold a couple prints in my local stores.

I wish I could take good enough pictures to even think about selling in stores.

I have sold calendars, which of course like anything else they sold only during the right season...right before the new year.

I have not sold to any local stores. I was just wondering who has and if it actually works. I guess depending what you offer, it does sell.

Folks have sold cards at the art gallery in Nova Scotia where I had a painting and a couple of photos hanging last summer. The folks said that the cards sold well because it was an inexpensive way to buy some of the artwork. An artist friend in Las Vegas send us some lovely cards made from her paintings.
I think the "trick" is to get a few made and find a retail store to sell them on consignment, perhaps a gift store or florist. That way they take no risk.

Check locally owned gift shops and florists. Chain operations may not take consignments based on their contracts but locals might. Also, a locally owned restaurant might.
Photographer's Edge sells display racks for cards. The photos there might give you some ideas.
