Why do you, OR want to sell y our photos?

I've seen some topics here from some of you about wanting to sell your photos. I'm curious of the core reasons for wanting to do this. Are you looking to sell to make some money or getting your photos in circulation (exposure for your name). Which would be the primary reason for selling your work?

My main reason is for the money it would generate, but the secondary reason is for the possibility of getting more paying gigs

For me the primary reason is for pay, but you always dream about one of your shots making the head lines.

I enjoy it! I spend time thinking of what to take, improve my technical skills to get better images, travel to exotic locations and set it against tax. What more do you want out of photography!
