When not in use, where do you store your camera gear?

(I think this makes post #10 for me :P ) For those that don't have a photography studio, where are you keeping your photography gear when it's not getting used. Do you hide your gear in your camera bag and stuff it in a closet or under the bed or do have a special spot just for your gear? Now I'm certain I don't have as much as most of you, but I have a shelf in a wide hallway that I have my camera and lenses sitting on. Honestly I just love looking at it. My husband says I have 'guy syndrome' . I think this is just a phrase he made up, but he says any time a guy get's a new car, tools or electronics they like to constantly look at it.

What you are supposed to store it? Thats a good one.
Actually my camera is at my desk, on the seat of the car, or within handy reach. The lenses that I carry are in my backpack, and then there are those that I am not sure which box they are in.

I have several bags and a backpack. I keep my primary body and lens on the buffet for quick access. The backup and lenses in two bags (the 50-500 in a dedicated case). Things get moved around based on the upcoming shoot.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I'm glad I'm not the only who does this. My camera(s) are part of my getting dressed in the morning!

It's VERY rare to see me without mine. It's been that way for many months now. But if I don't have it with me it stays in a backpack at home. My soft boxes, reflectors, stands, and other miscellaneous items get stored in my van's floor storage.

I prefer to store DSLR's with the last lens that was mounted on it. I don't like to remove lens from DSLR's for the fear of dust just for storing.
With SLR bodies (film roll based ones), I remove the lens and store the lens and body separately.

To store them in, I use an air tight big size box, with silica gel crystals.

All the time, I make sure that my cameras and lens are in dust free and clean environment.

In my camera bag and I just keep it on top of my shelves when I am at home. Otherwise it is in my backpack with all of my other gear or somewhere in reach.
