Any good 'fail' moments? I had a good one today!

OMG, I've read others in the past slipping up and leaving something behind when visiting a client. When I read these, I always thought something in the line of "how silly or forgetful can you be"? :pinch:

Well guess what I did today?

I get out to my client who was nearly 55 minutes from my house, and set up to take the portrait of their family. Everything is all set up, I turn on my camera and :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: crap! I left the dang memory card at home!!

I had to go to a best buy that was 30 minutes away and buy a new one!

Boy do I feel like the silly one!

I've done worse. This will be a fail only if you don't learn from it, like always having spare cards, batteries, etc in the bag........ ;)

Why so serious?

had to thing about this but, yep. Went to a field trial last fall. Always use my D5000 for better resolution over my D70. But this time i forgot and didn't take it's memory card out of the computer the night before. So, I got out the D70 and used it. pretty old card in my D70, only 256 MB. I have no idea what that means but I can only get 73 full res photo's on it. my D5000's card has 8GB's. Again, don't know much about what that means but do know I could shoot the trials and awards and fit it all on one card. Well once I figured out I wasn't gonna get much on the D70's card, even including the spare I had, I left after a cast off and went to the Bi Mart and got a card For the D5000. When I got home that evening, I found the card in my computer and to make matter's worse, I did have a spare for it with me. Didn't think to look though because I've never quite filled up an 8GB card before. DUH!

Hopefully my husband isn't listening. 3 weeks ago, I accidentally left my spare battery in my pockets and washed it. I didn't dare to even try to use if afterwards. :pinch:

I had another really dumb moment. We were moving to Colorado years ago, shoot a life time ago. Went up to Montana to see some friends and then cut down through Wyoming. Going through Wyoming we were seeing lot's of antelope on the side of the road. Finally slowed for one that didn't run off, just stood there and looked at us. Grabbed my camera, old Voighlander PS I bought while in Germany about 1967, got out and started shooting. Finally the antelope wandered off and I decided to refill the camera. Refill might not be the right term, fill would have worked better. Never occurred I was getting so many frames from a 20 exp. roll! I never bought 36 exp. rolls! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah it is still good. I have washed one of mine before, along with a couple of cards. Just let them dry out and they are good to go.

Yeah I have been there done that with film. I have also forgot to change the film speed when loading both slower and faster films. One time I went from a 50 to loading a 400 and shooting for the 50. Nothing like beautifully white negatives coming up in the soup. I had might as well of pulled it out the cart in the sun, and then loaded it.

I got one for you. If any of you should ever meet my wife, ask her about the time that someone left the camera  on the rear bumper of the pickup and took off. AND didn't realize it was not with them till 5 miles down the road. Cracked lens and messed up body from that fall.

Once (back in the day we still used tape in our video cameras) I forgot to bring a video tape. Had to rush to a nearby store and buy one at about double the normal price (it was a tourist area).

I've left my lens cap on a number of times and also taken a bunch of photos and realized afterwards that my ISO was still at what I had from the day before.

Put me down for heading out with two batteries that were dead

ONLY YESTERDAY
I was scouting for some locations for an advert shoot on farms.
I always shoot lowest res, then it is quick to download, process, resize to mail.
When I see something nice for me on the road, I flip to RAW.
I must've changed to small Raw, because I sit with small files.
I can cry.
