Thoughts on black frames on photos vs none

10 years 6 months ago #299244 by Photo Junky
Looking around, I'm seeing more photographers using larger black Photoshopped frames around their photos. In moderation I guess they didn't bother me so much, however now on the fence. Seeing one here and there was a nice touch, but I think it's getting abused and hence, loosing that unique look and now more of a Ehhhhh feeling.

Do you like black frames or looking past them?

I don't mind black borders at all. I thinks it's all preference.

Photoshopped frames? I haven't seen that too much, but when I do image work for a blog I run I tend to put borders around inlined images (smaller images in a larger one), but not too much on other images. But now that I have the idea in my head, I kind of like it. It sounds neat and clean.

Personally I think photos look better on a black back ground, it cleans the pallet.

Nope. Sometimes they look (much) better on white. There's no rhyme or reason, to my eye, but rather what the image wants.

<edit> I hate when I leave typos in. </edit>

I personally am one that puts black and white borders on my photos, well some of them. I think it makes them stand out.

It depends on person to person. Some may like black background some white. We can't force anyone for this. Some photo suits better with border and some will not.

Thanks
