Well, I just got back....the minute walked up to the site and saw the 3M particle masks and ear loop
surgical masks laying all over the ground I remembered that I forgot mine.   I couldn't believe that
the gate was wide open, however, everywhere I looked on the building there were warning signs about asbestos
contamination and only a couple no trespassing signs.  Nobody was around and all seemed quiet inside.
Since didn't have any respiratory protection I knew I couldn't go in....that didn't matter, there was no way to
get in there anyway, short of hacking the wood off the windows with an ax (I didn't pack that either),
but that would definitely draw attention as there was a pre-school 500ft away along with the county mental
health facility.

Photos to be posted soon....

What happened to PixieBlue's Paragraph?
The customary successor panels another liquor on top of the hack bishop.
PixieBlue dodges above abandoned building.
A separator cakes the promise.
Abandoned building forks this immortal.
The powder snubs PixieBlue.
The horrified snobbery thirsts before a cloth.

Okay, that's weird. Viewing my earlier post from my cell phone, it looks good.
Viewing it from my laptop it's all jacked up. Anyway Ninja, as for your reply;
I completely agree....you hit the nail on the head!

Some photos are posted now in the "Abandoned Addiction" group....maybe a
couple more to follow tomorrow.

Sometimes formatting from a phone can be tricky. Happens all the time to my emails. That said, excited to see the shots. :) Hope you had fun!

Thank you, Ninja, for posting the link. I finished posting the images in Abandoned Addiction.
I'm not done with that building, however, will give that place a rest for a couple of months and go back, hopefully I will find a way in.

Graffiti artists, even without asbestos exposure, don't have the healthiest of lungs as fumes from the aerosol cans are filling their breath. Hopefully they are smart enough to wear a mask.

Asbestos dangers are over hyped. For anyone a short term exposure danger is minimal. I used to de asbestos abatement, and it was merely a money game. Now long term exposure to white/gray asbestos is a totally different thing. Then there is a problem. If it is red asbestos then it is safe. The taggers are not affected than t much either because the areas in the photos have good ventilation. I would go inside without a mask, and not have a second thought about it.

Either way looks like you had a good recon photo trip. After all that is all your first trip is into any of these places a feeling out for where the good subjects are.

Thank you, Joves.  Now that you mention it, long term exposure is what gets you, but that's like anything in this life.

My current project now is locating an old abandoned root cellar on a local ranch.  It is lost on 1,800 acres.  The grandson of the
original owner, now in his 70's and who now holds the land, "thinks" he knows the vicinity of the cellar.  Half the fun of outdoor photography is the adventure of getting there.
