Aerial photography question

10 years 1 month ago #354307 by Game Plan
What is the largest 4 prop heli drone that could be used for aerial photography?  I have some realtors here who want me to take aerial photos and video of homes that they are selling.  This is kind of new to me, so looking for advise on not only what is the largest drone that can carry a camera.  I'm also looking for camera recommendations for these too.  I would like to have something that I can control with my iPad and see what it sees remotely.

thanks for the help!

If you have no drone time, I would suggest you look for a person who does.  It's not as easy as it looks.  Check with a couple of the larger hobby shops or contact the local RC club.  Seems like it would be easier with two, also.

Can't you just use one of those Go Pro cameras on one of those?

My brother has one of those and he has been struggling with getting it up in the air for more than 10 minutes at a time

I think you mean the SMALLEST heli/quadcopter that will handle a camera.
That really depends on what camera you're going to use.
You might want to talk to Greg Utton.
He just gave a presentation to my pro photog group about real estate photography, including heli's and quads

I will second the notion that you need a LOT of air time before selling your services.
There is a video of a wedding photog 'trying' to use a quad for some aerial video of the B&G. He flew it into the groom's face. Not good.

For the stills, you can use a camranger to control the camera and see the shots.

OK, I don't normally find it amusing when someone gets hurt.

But the acceleration of the drone and the awesome *slap* sound.... well, I can't help but laugh at this.

The problem is that drone pilot had no perception of depth.  Which is why he nailed that groom.

Hopefully that didn't hurt, my brothers kid has one of these and it's tough to control.  Fun when it's just floating in the air, but when you try to move it around, it becomes a whole another story to control.

Why not just get on a step latter for the view he was after?  Seems like a safer option.
