Will Nikon Upgrade The D300/300s at Photokina ?

I've been wanting the fabled D400 for 2 years already !  Rumor has it that Nikon will announce a new model D9300, to compete wit Canon's new Pro-Body crop sensor DSLR at Photokina this year... Talk about the dog leading the man !
I've tried the D7xxx platform and find it lacking. Same with the D6xxx models.  Once you get use to a pro-body camera, nothing else feels right... I'm a good photographer, and for my purpose, don't need to jump to FX with the added expense of investing in quality FX glass.  If Nikon doesn't get on the ball, many loyal customers will be jumping to Canon and Fujifilm !
Canon has already knocked the wind out of Nikon's sails/sales with their innovations in VIDIO.  I'm so in love with my Fuji X100s that if Nikon doesn't move, I'll be upgrading to a new XT1...
I'll wait for Photokina, but after that, all bets are off. I'm rooting for a Nikon D9300, so Nikon be forewarned.

Nope I do not see it to tell you the truth. I do agree about the smaller bodies, but with the higher MP count of the newer FX models the loss in Image Quality when the cameras are in DX mode is not a big hit, as it was with the D700/D3 models. I am thinking that when my D300 gives up the ghost, I will go to whatever is the upgrade to the D800 series, and call it good. And as far a video is concerned, I buy Dslrs for their still photos, and could care less about it. If I want to start shooting video I will buy a good dedicated camera for that.

The D9300 will be the next DX camera, with the improved D300 like features in a smaller body. It only makes sense....

Why so serious?
