Photographers, do your elbows ever hurt?

Do photographers get tennis elbow?  My right elbow has been hurting for the last few days.  Last weekend I spent nearly the entire weekend out shooting, so I'm wondering if I strained my arm or my husband made a snarky remark this morning talking about tennis elbow.  He's been telling me that I push myself to far sometimes.  I hope he isn't right here.

I had tennis elbow for about a year. So bad that I couldn't use my 2.8 tele zoom lens at all. Not fun, but I just used my primes and tripod a lot more. It heals with time.

It is what it is.

My left elbow hurts constantly, but its not from a camera. Old age is my suspicion.....

Why so serious?

That's what I was thinking, sounds like tennis elbow?? I've overdone it and had aches or soreness in my arm, shoulder, hand. I wonder if you need to think about how you're holding your camera, or maybe some people are just prone to it. I've been a photographer for years and never had anything like that. I might think about adjusting your stance or limiting the time, or taking breaks more often, etc.

It does sound like tennis elbow - small tears in the tendons caused by strenuous or repetitive actions (thus the "tennis" reference. Sometimes anti-inflammatory drugs help or a sleeve for the elbow. If simple "fixes" don't work, x-rays and other treatment may be called for.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

My brain hurts a lot... feels sorta like this:

Seriously though, yes I've hurt my elbows before after carrying a camera all day... not fun.

Not fun at all, did you have your doctor confirm this?

Oh you all are so nice!  I can't believe all the answers.  I took yesterday and today off and my arm is feeling much better.  I'm wondering if I just pulled or strained my arm.  But happy that it is feeling much better and all the replies.  Thank you!!
