When do you change things up?

9 years 7 months ago #402010 by Happy-pixel
It's so easy to get into the same 'groove' with photography.  Something that we feel comfortable with and we do well.  Like with lights: using one light or two lights in the same fashion every time over and over again.  So that you can create what you know will work.

But how often are you making a full U-turn and trying something completely new?  When are you playing 'explorer'?  Will you try something new when on hire or when you have the same subject a second time around?

Completely depends on the job and freedom that I have with it.  I like to explore other options, you never know what you might get!

I change things up when I feel like it. I have shot just about every subject over my many years looking through a view finder.

All the time!  Staying still is boring and just for competition to pass you!

It's being aware of your photography and what you consider leading edge.  If you can tune into this, then you change frequently.

I can't imagine getting into the "same groove". There are never enough hours in the day for me.

i did see this go by in a newsletter, though, and thought it was a good article:
