Um, what?

Perhaps some clarification of your question is in order?

I think getting chummy with Realtors is going to be your best bet.  I can't imagine to many people letting you use their homes for a photo shoot.  Unless you are paying big bucks.

Not sure what you want to do, but I wouldn't think a realtor would be able to allow you to use someone's home for a photo shoot (plus they'd be showing it during an open house). Maybe if it was a newly built home that was company owned, or a model home, or model apt./condo in a complex.

You'd need to have the real estate company or developer/builder (or maybe both) sign a property release to be able to use the photos. I'd think they may charge a fee to use the property since this could be considered commercial. Or they may not want someone else to use images of their property if they're going to be listing/selling it or using photos of it in ads themselves.

Another thought, if there's a historic neighborhood in your area with shops and small businesses in old houses, I don't know if they'd let someone come in and take pictures.

I'm assuming you want to get access to these homes for commercial use.  If my assumption is correct, and you are going to be taking photos of the place with a subject, wouldn't the actual owner of the house need to sign a release vs the Realtor?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all.  LOL I should have clarified.  I have seen other photographers who have taken photos of clients in these gorgeous homes that are empty.  Actually earlier this year, there was an article that I had read that showed 10 (might have been more) portraits taken in homes that weren't lived in, but were stunning.

I was wondering how these photographers were setting these shoots up?
