Corporate client wants photos uploaded immediately on big screen during event?

9 years 3 months ago #425056 by Orlando Bohland
I have an upcoming corporate gig that is paying pretty well and the coordinator just called me today and tossed me a curve ball.  He wants the photos that I take, some how uploaded instantly to large screen TV's that they will have located through out the room.

Any idea how this can be pulled off?

You can do an eye-fi card uploading into a file on your computer, and run a slideshow from that or lightroom.

Or do a tethered shooting from lightroom if you are an immobile setup

Nope that won't work, I'll be moving around.  They are wanting from camera in real time sent to TV's some how.  There will be 4 large screen TV's.

:(    I hope there is a way to do this, I don't want to lose this job.

BTW  :thx:

Then definitely go for a eye-fi card with a presentation set up to run automatically. Off the top of my head I'm not sure what would be the best application to run a updating slideshow.

Say you can do it but it'll cost an extra $700

A lot of the time these people just don't realise the difficulty of doing these things and they think technology is like magic.

I have seen camranger used in a class, and it seemed prompt and reliable. But it's going to cost you money.

Frankly, if the client requests a certain "feature" they should be willing to pay for it. Something like this is an add-on and, for me, would require addition $$. Look at renting if you aren't going to charge enough to cover the cost of buying.

Best of luck.

Gary nailed it, this is a upgrade and should be treated as such. Let them know the challenge and charge accordingly for it.

This can be done with the right Tech. make sure you speak to the AV guys at the venue and find out how they want you to access their equipment and maybe ask if they have something  you can hire.
