FYI: 50 free 4x6 prints from Shutterfly?

Just noticed that Shutterfly is giving away 50 free 4x6 prints when you sign up with them.   I have no idea what the paper quality is like with these prints, but they are free.  Anyone use these guys for your photo books?

Yes, yes.

If you get onto Shutterfly and accept emails, you will get constant offers from them. Including free stuff, like 100 free prints (shipping about $7). I have a "free" fridge magnet.

Overall, the quality is above Walmart, but kinda average.

If you choose to have prints made, be aware that they "enhance" your photos by default. They are not a pro lab; the deal with consumer grade jpgs that need to be punched up. This is just like what WalMart, Walgreens, etc, do to you digital files. If you don't want their processing, you have to turn it off. And it's not easy to figure out how to do that.

So, YMMV. The paper is fine, nothing special. If you want a handful of prints at a very modest price, go for it.
