Amazing accidental photo

Did you read the story about Peter Lik's "One" image, and how it was taken?  Apparently he was just walking about this pond with his camera down by his side and he snapped the shutter.  Bam... $1million, SOLD!

Now this is a rarity of course.

Have you had any extraordinary 'accidental' photos worth talking about?  Post it up, let's see.  I'm going to have some fun and see what I can come up with.

You kidding me?  I would be doing back flips if I had a wild success like Mr Lik's "One".  :beerbang:

I've done something like that, taken a spur of the moment shot and it turns out to be a good one. Maybe because I've done sports and events, sometimes I get my best shots without thinking too much! But - no million bucks. lol I did just get a photo accepted into a juried exhibit that was one I took pulling the car over to the side of the road on the way home one evening.

Apparently Lik is selling his photos in his own galleries and sets extraordinarily high prices which seem to drop drastically in resale value. This is a long article but skimming down in a later paragraph it tells how much the value has dropped of his photos that have been resold. He might be making a lot of money now but I wonder at what point will prospective buyers realize the photos don't seem to retain values even close to the amounts paid.

I've heard the story behind that photo and thought it was part of the 'marketing' act to sell the photo.  As for me, no great accidental photos.  I have some keepers that I'm proud of, however they were planned shots.
