What are your worst habits when shooting?

Same here. So much beauty in my area (Alberta) but many times I just keep on driving because I'm in a hurry or it's too cold. I need to quit that.

Over editing my images in post. Sometimes I'll spend hours tweaking an image, only to realize at the end of it that it's a little too over the top.

My top two are:

1. Taking to much kit
2. Looking at other photographers kit and debating if that would be better, instead of shooting the best I can with what I have.

I don't think about the shot vs trigger happy finger.  Then having that 'oh crap' feeling later when looking at photos and thinking, 'if I only shot it from this angle'.

I always forget to take the lens cap off for the first picture. Not sure if that's a habit and more of an idiotic thing to do :)

Forgetting to charge my battery or empty my memory card before going out for a shoot. Every time it happens, I tell myself that I'll never make such a stupid mistake again...nevertheless it still happens pretty frequently. C'est la vie...

Not getting out enough.  Or finding new spots to photograph.

Taking pictures without my glasses...things sometimes turn out a little blurry when i leave them behind.

Chimping - while I am shooting, constantly checking the back of my camera to look at the images I just made. This often results in missing the best "shot".

Not backing up my images to an external hard drive. Even though I've lost images from hard drive failures in the past, I often struggle to find the time or forget which images I have backed up onto externals...until it's too late, that is.

You need that to be setup automatically. Manually backing them up is not the way to go. Better than nothing, but you have seen the results of doing it that way.

I always forget to check the settings from the day before. Glad there's so many others that do the same thing :)

+1 on the time.  I have a tough time putting the time aside
