Pricing for product photography shoot

6 years 7 months ago #542095 by NickSano
I don't do much product photography and have a client that has an undisclosed number of products that he wants one photo for each.  These images will be used for his website and advertising of that product.

He is supposed to be getting number of products over to me today.

How would you start pricing for something like this?

Thanks for the help.

Nick

Per item, based on time, number of shots, and usage license. Then multiply. There's a base cost, too, for setup and tear down (your time is worth money), so the quote should only apply to whatever is delivered to you all at one time. You can build the overhead into the per-item price, and charge as a separate line item. Your basis for computing the customer cost is private to you, of course.

But don't quote on time. They'll be standing over your shoulder trying to get you to go faster (to save money). Base it on how many items you'll shoot.

Sound advice....

Why so serious?
