Photographing while raining

6 years 6 months ago #549618 by Sara Miles
Hello guys!
How do you keep your camera safe when you are photographing while raining? Will the neoprene cover be enough? I am using a Samsung NX1000.
What do you do?
Thanks for the help!

Depends on hard its raining and for how long I'll be out. I carry a couple 16gal clear trash bags with cutout for the lens and a rubber band, Quite cheap and effective. Those plastic bags UPS uses to leave boxes on a wet day also rock....

Why so serious?

How long are you going to be in the rain?  I've used an umbrella when my camera is set up on a tripod.  Keeps both the camera and me dry.

I think an umbrella is not applicable for a music festival. I hope the weather forecast is wrong for the weekend.

Bread bag over the camera and lens works fine by me.

Very rarely will I get caught in the rain, however I always have wet weather gear in my car.

Get your self a few bread bags, kept those in your camera bag.  These will make great rain coats for your camera. And they didn't cost you a dime.
