Bug in old lens

6 years 1 month ago #573628 by TCooper
My neighbor just picked up a older 300mm Nikon lens.  The reason for showing me the lens, is that there is a dead bug inside of it.

Forget about how this bug could have gotten in there.  How in the world do you get it out?  I had no clue and suggested he might need to send the lens into a repair shop.

Any thoughts on this?  Please share.

Thank you in advance.

In the front or rear part of the lens? Where it is, determines how to go about removing it.

Stuck to the element? If so it may need a trip to the lens doctor...(Nikon repair)

Why so serious?

It's impressive that a bug even managed to find its way in there! Hope you had some professionals look at it.
