How much to pay assistant?

5 years 10 months ago #585809 by ShannonG91
Hey everyone! My question is regarding how much to pay someone to help me in managing my calendar/bookings, return FB messages or inquiries, and respond to emails or phone calls. I feel too much of my time is spent answering inquires, scheduling appts, dealing with customer complaints or questions and I would be so much more effective if I could focus more on artistic direction. Don't feel hourly pay is the way to go since this person will basically be setting their own hours to complete responses and bookings but how should I go about paying them for this type of position?

Thanks in advance for y'alls help!

You should pay them what they're worth, and what they agree to work for....I doubt anyone here will know your employee's value....

Why so serious?

Completely depends on their experience, what they will be doing for you and all of the above.  I have assistants that I have paid $15 per hour and then I have ones that I pay $25 per hour.  Depends on the job, their experience and what I'll have them be doing.

You need to figure out how much time you spend doing the work, and what it's worth to you. Then how much time you expect to be interacting/managing/directing the flunkie. Ideally what you gain (time, focused attention and interest) is more valuable than the paycheck.

:agree:  it boils down to time and experience.
