Using a pseudonym instead of your real name?

When you have a tough name, or very common, will you consider using a pseudonym instead of your real name?

Do you see anything wrong with doing so?

Just keep in mind, when it comes to your tax forms and setting up your company, you need to use your legal birth name.  After that, what you call yourself in front of your clients is up to you.

Nope, my name is my brand.  I wouldn't go with anything else.

I never could use my real name.

When, in 1969, a beautiful young woman stared in the very first
erotic movie (not even extremely soft porn by today's standard!)
done in French and for the Québec market, my goose was cooked.
I was 18 years old!

Since then, as a musician and as a photographer, I had an incorpo-
rated name, the same for both occupations.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

G'day all

Speaking as one who is outside the USA - may I remind you that there are many identical named people doing photography from other English-speaking countries, and if you wish to avoid internet 'wrong-entries' you might need to fine-tune your name to make it unique

When I google search for my photography training site, I am constantly getting hits from a US 'tog by the same name, except he does weddings & corporate stuff etc. while I do training

Also for us Downunder, we are becoming tired of US businesses demanding Aussie businesses rename themselves once google starts to highlight 'conflicts' ... even tho the Aussie business is 40+ years old and well established here with its properly registered business name

Isn't this done everyday and is norm in Hollywood and music industry?  How many music artist and movie stars do you buy their movies, or music who go by some pseudonym?
