Flower Photography - how are you getting sharp images?

With all the flowers blooming all over the place, how are you getting sharp close up shots when the wind is blowing? Even a slight breeze can screw up a shot.  I could really use some help here.  I went out and tried everything that I could think of and all my shots are crappy when you look at them on a larger computer screen.

Fast shutter speed. A windscreen.

There was at one point a thing called a "flowerpod" that helped provide support and stability (or move things out of the way), but is no longer made.

You can make your own tools to hold things still, but you're still at the mercy of the weather.

Macro/short focal distance + Windy = PITA.

If you are trying to get a shot of just one, you can use a bendable arm with a clamp, like this.

If the wind is blowing too hard, faster shutter speeds are your next best option. However, in macro, high ISO can be your enemy, so if the shutter speeds go too high, sending the ISO with it, it can possibly negatively affect your photos.

On those days, I just find other subjects or go to a place where the flowers are protected from the wind.

You can get a white foam sheet, score it in thirds, and fold it around the flower for light and wind protection.

How do you secure it?
