How long till you deliver photos to your client?

How long are you giving yourself before getting images to your clients from after the shoot?  Now granted I don't have years in business like many of you, but every so often when I tell clients it will be 14 days till they get their photos, I'll get one that will look at me with a dumb look on their face and like yesterday make a comment like "really 2 weeks just to get the photos from your camera?".

Now of course I let them know I need to select the best shots, edit as needed, etc.

But still it's annoying to hear this question.

How long are you taking to deliver the clients images?

The sooner the better for all.
Plan your PP sessions to work well and fast.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Yeah, but I was hoping to get an understanding as to when others were sending out photos to clients.  Kind of seeing where I stand.

I don't think two weeks is unreasonable for portrait work, etc, but it depends upon you. Faster is usually better. I think that if people are excited about something, the more quickly you can respond and capitalize on that excitement, the better. Assuming we're talking about pre-IPS.

If just delivery, then several days to a few weeks is not unreasonable in my mind. What you want to do is set expectations and exceed them.
