Printing on silver metallic paper for cityscape shots?

2 months 2 weeks ago #647338 by JMunoz
I read an article that referenced printing on silver metallic paper to make night time city scapes pop.  Have you tried this yourself?

Can you suggest a brand of paper for me please?

Thank you

The metallic will make the light areas pop.   Both Epson and Canon make a good Pro paper that will be a good start for you.

Nikon D700 | 14-24mm f/2.8G ED | 24-70mm f/2.8G ED | 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II | (2) SB-900

Also consider gold metallic works very well with sunsets.  I have both colors and sometimes it's an experiment where I will print off 2 prints, one with the silver metallic paper, then other with the gold and hang these on the wall with over head lighting.  Amazing to see how the paper used can influence the 'pop' factor.

Silver looks best on night city shots.

EF 50mm f/1.4
EF 35mm f/1.4L USM
EF 100mm f/2
EF 70-200mm f/4
EF 18-55mm
EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

Metallic paper is fun, and is particularly useful for orange tones. Therefore, cityscapes work well.

I'm a huge fan of Red River paper.
