Whats going on with Tokina lenses?

9 months 2 weeks ago #660243 by ShutterGuy
I remember 8-10 years ago, you heard about new glass coming out from Tokina.  These days I haven't heard squat on them.  Actually I can't remember the last time I heard about something new coming from Tokina.  Is there anything on the horizon for them?

Tokina is Kenko owned, neither is or was innovative.....

Why so serious?

What about 11-16mm?   That was a good lens.

I didn't say they weren't fine products, but they don't
" innovate "...
verb
....make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.

Kenko makes a good variable ND.  I have one and love this thing.

+1 their 11-16mm was an awesome lens.  I gave that lens to my sister who I know is still using it today.

Still got one, actually I bought one new long ago, then sold it.  Then bought another used one 2 years ago.  It's a fun lens.  Lens cap does feel cheap on it though.

I've tried three and have yet to see a "good" variable ND.
I owned the Tokina 12-24, built like a tank, a solid performer. Maybe they're gearing up to make mirrorless glass? That's the obvious future.

Why so serious?
