Should Nikon be Acquired by Apple?

4 years 5 months ago #666784 by MYoung
Yesterday I saw a post someone made on Facebook with a heading of "Nikon to be Acquired by Apple".  I didn't click on it as it shouldn't more of an opinion than anything.  But thinking about this, and the position of Nikon, would this be a good thing for them?

Nikon is hemorrhaging cash and behind, Apple has more money than god.  So this could be a good join right?

Speculations over… speculated data?

Apple has made it very clear that 12MP is adequate, and inprovements to images will come from software.

Disagree, of course, but what can you do?

That idea makes zero sense for Apple, in any event.

Yes. I believe the latest and greatest iPhone model tops out at 12 megapixels. Based on something I read a while ago. I'm not going to bother checking the Apple website.

OMG, I think Apple should just stick with phones and computers and leave the big boy cameras to the others.

I've seen more than one rumor/story going around about Nikon, and at least one came from somebody speculating on a message board. There seems to be nothing to the rumors I've seen, they're just from somebody talking/posting that seems to go viral.

i’m on the fence with the idea of apple buying out Nikon. Half of me thinks it would be good. The other half of me thinks this would be disaster for the Nikon fan group.
