KEH or MPB for best buy rates?

4 years 1 month ago #680371 by Sanford
Last couple weeks I have used the time to go through all my photography gear.  Finally, this project is LONG overdue.

I have a couple boxes of gear that I'm going to try to sell in one go.  Do you know which of these two offer the best buy rates?

MPB is from my stomping grounds here in England.  They do have NY location, not sure if they operate in same fashion.  If they do, I would recommend all day long.  KEH, don't know much about them for obvious reasons.

Neither will do you any favors. You can go online to get a basic quote from KEH, but ultimately you're going to have to contact each and see what they'll offer you.

Old stuff, you should try using eBay. Just sayin'.

Doing the same thing with the same range of products
in the same finality, I wouldn't expect much difference
but possibly location convenience.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

Shop them both, why leave anything for chance?

I recently got quotes from both of them for the exact same gear... MPB was offering a dollar more

Looks like both companies know  exactly what each are offering.  I think rates will be close between both companies on most cameras and gear.  MPB might have slight advantage due to multiple locations.   KEH has been around for long time. Still price shop both.

Canon 7D w/grip, Canon 40D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro; Sigma 70-300mm f2.8; Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro; Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6

MPB has excellent customer service.  At least email wise.  Can't speak about  phone support though.

With business slowed from this Covid 19 thing, I've been going through all my old gear.  I'm going to reach out to both and see who will simply pay the most.  Need to these days.

:agree:  You beat me to sharing that one.   MPB or even B&H used department if you want my 3 cents on this matter.  Used Photo Pro and Precision Camera are a couple others to consider.

I've had good luck with both, but i would recommend shopping them both for both your buys and sells.
