Pixel peeping up in arms?

Why do people get so up in arms about pixel peeping?   If you do it quick, it's a great way to delete photos that are out of focus or wrong exposure before you clutter up your computer.  Just saw someones rant on Facebook about this and found it comical how petty their views seemed.

I think the term is aimed at people who, even if they know the picture is sharp, search for any inconsistencies, spending lots of time at 200% enlargements.
It is important to go to 100% if you shoot subjects that all shots may not be sharp.

'Pixel Peeping' serves a useful purpose, but what gets me is people using it to compare a 24MP image with a 12MP image. That's just dumb.

Yeah, agree.  Just think people should do what they want.  It's your hobby or work.
