Question about photographing Africa and South America

5 months 2 weeks ago #758713 by Tim Kelley
I have been admiring many of your photos you all have been posting here of animals in Africa. This has lead into curiosity of traveling to Africa and South America having hybrid visits. Meaning I would stay and do a photography workshop in each location, as I feel these workshops know how to get your camera in front of more wild animals. Then after the workshop experience I would stay in each area and explore small villages and experience the culture. I would of course take my camera, and photograph my experiences. Photographing animals and sharing those photos is one thing. If I photograph indigenous people, do I need permissions to share and even sell such photos?

You should check with the people that are running these workshops.  Something to definitely consider is safety.  When you are in a group, numbers protect.  When you are solo, you have four legged predators to worry about AND two legged predators.

In towns it isn't bad, however if OP is talking about out in the wild, then 100% agree with you.

OP are you talking about exploring the wild or city/town life?  If wild - agree with the above, however if you talking about in the villages or town life, personally I would have someone with you still.
