Do I need a sensor-cleaning kit for mirrorless camera?

I'm FINALLY making the upgrade to mirrorless.  Looking at all the new gear I'm getting.  But do you still need sensor cleaning kits for these cameras?

The user's manual should explain it.

I am still happy with my old SLR gear. The user manual only comes with the purchase. I believe he wanted to do one purchase with all the accessories.
My common sense says that with interchangeable lenses the sensor cabin will still be exposed to dust.

Many manuals are available as free PDF downloads. I also use mostly SLRs and have little use for digital, but have read that some mirrorless models have a shutter to cover the sensor when the lens is removed, and they may be less prone to sensor spots than DSLRs.

Why would you think otherwise?

Razky, as far as my knowledge stretches, the shutter covers every sensor of every digital camera.
Dust gets in behind the lens as you change them.
As the shutter moves, dust gets in behind it.

Perhaps it should simply be called a dust cover rather than a shutter - at any rate, it doesn't move while the lens is off.

Au contraire!

Zoom lenses expand and contract the empty space within them, sucking in and expelling air as they go. Even if you never remove the lens, dust will enter the camera and likely deposit itself on the image sensor of every camera that has an electronic viewfinder, mirrorless as well as P&S.

It occurs with DSLRs as well, but is much more likely to occur with mirrorless cameras because their image sensors are more often exposed to the chamber between it and the lens' exit pupil.

I just get my cameras professionally cleaned every 6 months or so, done with no head aches.
