Is there such thing as the perfect camera?

Have you noticed the industry seems to be chasing its tail?  One aspect of a camera becomes tweet and modified and perfect, however other aspects fall short.

So has there been a perfect camera?  Has one ever existed?

Only perfect cameras I ever saw were film cameras. The Nikon F100 was the perfect camera for me.

Exactly. Everyone has their own perfect camera.

That is, until they replace it with their own MORE perfect camera.

So, short term: Yes.

But long term: No.

Exactly!

A new camera is only 'perfect' during the honeymoon phase and until Nikon, Canon or Sony come out with something new, "their best ever... ".

The only new feature I use since my film days is autofocus.
I still shoot manual.
O, we did not use zooms back in the day, quality was not there yet, today all my lenses are zoom, except for my 50mm.

Remember back in the day, most of use all we had was a 50mm on our cameras.  That forced you to get really creative with your shots.  Want to zoom?  Walk forward or walk backwards!

Perfect camera?  Oh dang wouldn't that be up to each and everyone's specific needs?

Hmmmm, I have not found a perfect camera.  I have found close to perfect, but as long as it works for what I need, I’m good.

Please share, what feature you would still like to see?

Honestly, there is to much stuff in cameras these days.  All I care about, can it take good photos?  If so, that is all I care about.  And I'm super happy with what I have right now.
