Will an aging DSLR sensor sensitivity degrade as it ages?

Semi silly question, but I heard about this and would like to know there is any truth to it?  As I understood, as a DSLR ages, the sensors sensitivity to light degrades with increase of noise at lower ISO levels.

Why is that so?

I don't think it would matter if the sensor was in a DSLR, MILC or point and shoot. I have the first and last types, nearly 20 years old, and have seen no sensor degradation in either.

Agree, I've never heard of sensors degrading on any cameras.  Actually the only time I heard a sensor getting messed up was from someone pointing at the sun .

Can't say I have ever heard anything on this.  I don't think so.

+1 you are good to go.  Battery to the DSLR might grow weak over time, but the camera will be in good shape

I think if that was the case, we all would have some bones to pick with camera manufactures.

I don't think so.  Only thing that I know that degrades if film.

Not the sensor, but outside seals and perhaps other parts of the outside of the camera.
