Need advice photographing a bowling alley

1 month 1 week ago #762955 by Jim Photo
I've been hired to photograph a bowling alley, which I knew would be a low light setting.  The curveball that I was just made aware of, is they want me to capture people bowling.

How would you approach capturing people moving and the rest of the low light and vibrant colors?

I'd bring my own lighting, and shoot the lanes closest to the wall, so distant backgrounds wouldn't be dark.

Agree, control the light so it hits the bowler only as they are moving forward.  You should be able to get enough light to get them nice and sharp while still maintaining all else.

I bet if you crank up your ISO and perhaps a small warm light with colored gel matching the colors in the alley, you could pull it off.
