Rechargeable batteries

I go through so many batteries with my external flash. As I'm forcing myself to get more use to off camera flash I'm realizing this can get very expensive. Which has me looking at different lighting sources too. I was wondering how many of you are using rechargeable batteries for your flashes? How long will a properly maintained rechargeable battery last?

I prefer rechargeable, I always add a few new ones every so often. So exact life span is unknown to me? I do think they give a better punch and last longer than alkaline batteries.

I have several sets of rechargeable batteries. They can be expensive but after a few recharges they have paid for themselves when compared with alkaline. My estimate is they will recharge more than 30 times and still perform but the capacity starts to diminish.

Duracell, Rayovac and some brand from China. If you look on ebay you can find some great deals...
cgi.ebay.com/20-x-AA-2A-3000mAh-Ni-MH-Re...475a6#ht_1761wt_1072 for example. If you can afford to buy in bulk you will realize some great savings.

I'm possibly alone, but I hate Duracell. Short life leakers. I use and like the Sanyo eneloops, with the charger of the same mfg., simple and cost effective.....B)
