There was an accident on the highway, so of course traffic was very slow. I was able to take a shot of the accident. Which includes crashed cars and semi injuried people. Would this be consider street photography?

Kind of but not.
Most street photography is of people doing their daily business and being caught unaware. So it is more of a candid type of shooting. Shooting an accident is more akin to event photography.

I would think, it wouldn't be any different then if you were a photojournalist doing your job..working for a newspaper. Are you worried about the legals...like permission forms?

Yes, it did cross my mind if I would need a release form signed, but of course how could I get one sign.

If you are thinking of getting it published in the local newspaper then you dont need a release.

Any idea of what news papers might pay for a photo like that? Im always on the road and have taken my share of photos of wrecks. Heck if I can make a buck, I'm in!

Probably only the local paper would be interested in a crash photo.

For a random photo like that $25 if you are lucky. My local paper only wants them if there were injuries or deaths.
