Question about transfer of warranty

13 years 4 weeks ago #45933 by Vahrenkamp
I have never bought a used camera or lens from anyone. I found someone here who is selling a D700 and a couple of nearly brand new lenses for a pretty fair price. My question is if I buy these, will the warranty transfer to me? I know companies can get a little touchy about this subject. If I'm not going to save THAT much and have no warranty vs spending a tad more and having warranty, I might just wait for better deal or just buy new.

Anyone know this answer?

I might be wrong, but I don't think the warranty is transferable. However, buying new has changed seriously in the last couple months, and will likely change some more. Have you shopped D700 new lately?......

Why so serious?

What's going on with the D700?

As far as warranty I think most companies will allow the transfer of ownership.

Stocks of the camera are dwindling probably because of a replacement.
