Yellow flowers

Why is it, when I take pictures of yellow flowers, they are always so bright?

Some cameras have settings for color tones, just like some tvs do. I personally use the vivid setting on some cameras. You may have you setting on something like this and that may account for what you are speaking of. I am getting the impression that you yellows are off the chart though, that your other colors are ok, but the yellows are INSANE. That could be a problem, no expert here but if that is the case you may have a bad sensor. I would check you color settings and see if that solves the problem, and if it does not, take it to a local reputable camera shop and see what they think,

I have found shooting yellow flowers in the sun, naturally becomes very bright. Either you have to adjust the settings accordingly or shoot the flowers on an overcast day.

You could always turn down your exposure compensation.
