You can change the title for a thread. That's cool :)

I still have my OM-G (also know as OM-20), and appreciate that they were able to replicate the look and size so closely.

Olympus has a small but avid fan base in my two photo clubs. I think it amazing that they have continued to develop such great concepts.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

The change in the thread title to me is funny.

It was destined to get buried under the news of the big gun releases.

Problem is, all the corruption and such going on at olympus makes me think they're gonna go bankrupt soon.

Have I been under a rock? What are you speaking of?

Nikon 18-55mm VR, Nikon 70-200mm VRII f/2.8, Nikon 50mm f/1.8, Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, SB-700 & SB-800

It looks neat! But beyond Olympus' financial fraud problems, which would be enough to keep me from investing in anything from Oly until it gets sorted out ($1.7 billion sounds very serious to me), I think micro 4/3 cameras are going to have a hard time competing with similarly priced APS-C format compact cameras. I'm much more excited about the new Pentax APS-C, interchangable lens, compact camera that's $100 cheaper.

I was impressed that they went ahead with business as usual and launched a new camera product line in the face of the more dominant medical imaging part of the company being caught hiding their substantial losses through accounting gimmicks. At the end of the day if sales do well, but the parent company gets reorganized, someone else will want to pick up the camera division because they'll have the well known brand name with already proven products to offer.

I bought a Motobecane bicycle a few years ago, and found out that it had nothing to do with the original French company any more, but it was still a great design worthy of their brand name. If it's an Olympus, designed in the tradition of what I grew up with, I really don't care who's behind the company.

The thing with olympus is they seem to always trail behind Canon and Nikon (and Sony) when it comes to cameras. Making them a tough choice.

There's also the fact they stick with the 4/3 sensors (x2 crop) and don't try and bring out a FF option.

That said, I'm sure this is a good step up from the PEN line. And olympus are much better than Canon in the mirror-less camera department ;) Arguably better than Nikon (and Sony) in this area too.

Interesting Market Analysis

Mirror-less cameras a now taking over the the Japanese and other Asian markets.

Mirror-less has basically taken over P&S cameras in Japan I guess.

CANON is lagging behind seriously. Why didn't they make the G1 X into a mirrorless exchangeable lens camera is beyond me.

Even Nikon has a mirrorless solution that suits the japanese market a LOT (pink cameras bro).
