Spartan Race

Attended my first Spartan Race (as a spectator) last weekend, and rented a 70-200 to practice my event photography. I thought this one turned out pretty well: (from ViewBug)

That's an awesome image. Looks like a 70-200 is in your future. :)

That's an incredible photo. Great catching the moment, and the spray makes the photo. The only thing I don't care for is whatever is in the foreground in the lower left, I think it would be better without that, but it doesn't detract much. Took a quick glance at the contest and your photo to me looks way beyond the skill level of most of what else I saw.

Thanks much! That is part of a bale of hay. They were all over the course, and I was stuck on the sidelines behind a fence. That limited what I could do. I spent some time running back and forth.  I did burn it out (it is much brighter) but it's too ingrained to remove. I also considered removing the tag on the shirt back, but decided it was probably impossible (at my PS skill level).

Appreciate your comments!!

Thank you so much.

Re: lens. I wish. When I figure out how to put to work enough to justify it, I'll get it. In the meantime I just need to plan ahead enough to reserve it for when I can really use it.

Did you whiten his eye or is that an effect of all the mud making the eye seem brighter?

Great shot btw.
