My project for today is to freeze the ball close to the bat or close to the batter...

Talking about freezing the ball close to the batter. This Utah Batter got hit on the ribs.

A Grand Slam hit by Utah.

Good timing on these shots. Were you shooting sequential images or did you master the split second shutter release?:judge:

I am very happy to say that I took these pictures using the "Split second shutter release". Took me 5 innings, studying the batters movement and swings.... I think Split second shutter release is much more fun than continuous/sequential images mode. :)

very well taken images, spot on timing so very well done, its an art form for sure, not sure I could do it, would probably clone a ball in afterwards haha

When I was doing a lot of baseball (softball would be the same) ... I found that photographing the batter, or the pitcher's release became very rhythmic ... once you got it down it was not all that difficult. The real trick became leaving the batter and getting a sharp, in focus shot of a runner sliding into a base, a fielder catching a ball, especially a ground ball, etc.

Nicely captured images

Mission accomplished". Well done.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
