Anyone happen to see this movie yet? If not and you are a action movie fan, this movie was a 9 and full of good acting, action and a few surprising twists in the movie. I don't want to say to much and spoil it. So go check out the movie! ha ha ha

You're probably talking about the new one with Jason Stratham? Haven't seen it, but in my mind nothing can compare to Charles Bronson's version. 1972, I think.

There's seems to be mad trend to redo all the old classics. My opinion? New writers should think of new scripts - not just copy what's already been done. It's seldom an improvement.

The Departed was a remake and it won the best picture oscar.
Also:
Best Achievement in Editing
Best Achievement in Directing
Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay

also a golden globe for best director.

...and so on...

True Grit (the new one) is nominated for best picture, best director, best actor, best actress, adapted screenplay, art direction, cinematography, costume design, sound editing and sound mixing this year.

Ocean's Eleven was a pretty good remake too.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was just as awesome as Willy Wonker and the Chocolate Factory.

Three men and a baby (remake of a French film)

Cape Fear (the remake was just as good as the old one)

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was a remake.

The Fly (1986) was a remake

The Thing (1982) was a remake

They're not all bad. ;)

Batman begins and Dark Knight are reboots too, both of them are better than the older batman films.
