This guy is nuts! I have only seen this show a couple times before. This is the first time I'm paying attention while watching it. He is on a deserted Pacific island and just ate these huge fish eye's raw.

Personally, I think he does unnecessary stuff, grandstanding to make the show more interesting. I remember flipping through the channels once and catching a scene of his show where he was supposedly planning to catch a wild horse to ride back to civilization. The horse had shoes on, and placidly grazed while Grylls stealthly sneaked upon it with an out-of-focus fence showing in a corner of the background. I thought, "seriously??"

I don't blame him though, you gotta keep these unreality shows interesting. There's only so much you can do with the survival theme. That's show biz, baby!

I was it once and the things he ate turned my stomach, never watched it again. I think on that one he crawled inside a dead animal to keep warm, DISGUSTING/

It's not a lets try to put bear grylls into a situation where he could die show, so it's a survival entertainment show. They're going to have regulations, and have setups to illustrate points.

He is insane though and completely unnecessary.

If anyone thinks any "reality" show as anything at all to do with reality, they seriously need their own reality check. It's all scrpted. And "on a deserted island" You think? What about the camera crew?

I watch this show all the time, he's pretty crazy with some of the stuff he does. There were a few shows that it looks totally staged but still cool.
