Good article.

The problem I have is his using "The Ultimate" as a headline. So webbish and self-promoting. Everyone with a web site feels they are "The Ultimate".

Again, good article.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Hi I am new here so please go easy on me.. And I am new to RAW format. I have a Pentax x90 and I know it CAN shoot in Raw but I just don't know where the setting is to change it..

Blonde question I know, but I would be eternally grateful if someone could please tell me what to look for. I have poured over the manual for the camera a hundred times but I just don't know what I am even looking for as far as WHERE in the settings this might be..

Please help.. xxx

Excellent article, so I'm not gonna merge it with one of the other 5 Raw vs Jpeg threads we have.

However I'm gonna take the liberty of editing the title of this thread to suit the content.

Good job effron!

A few years ago I might have agreed with the article. May have been written then too.

Here's why I don't anymore:

Before people had small memory cards, expensive hard drives and slower computers. RAW put a burden on these items.

Now, most any computer can breeze through opening and converting a bunch of RAW images. It takes a snap in Lr to Export.

PLUS, you have the original, all pixels, digital negative, you can use (or improve in post) at ANY time.

It makes no sense NOT to shoot in RAW.

I agree with MLK. To be honest I didn't read most of the article so I have no idea of the details.
